Q What is a post license? All newly licensed sales associate and broker licensees must take required postlicensure education within the first license renewal period (18 months). You license will become Null & Void if you fail to take the postlicensure education within the initial licensure renewal period, as mandated by statute.
New licensees have 18 months to do the POST LICENSE before the 1st renewal.
POST LICENSE IS DONE ONCE.
45 hours = Sales
GRI I satisfies the 45-hour requirement
60 hours = Broker
Taking BOTH GRI 2 & 3 satisfies the 60-hour requirement
Q What qualifies for the broker post license? GRI 2 & 3 (30-hour per course) will satisfy the 60-hour requirement, GRI 1 is not approved for Broker Post Licensing ONLY New Licensees Post Licensing.
Q What do I need after the post license? Once a license is renewed, every two years the state requires 14 hours of continuing education. Three of the fourteen hours MUST be core law. The remaining 11 hours can be accumulated from continuing education classes like contract seminars, 1031 tax exchanges, etc. There is no final exam.
NOTE: The 14-hour classes are usually offered in February and August, due to the license renewals due in March and September.
